TransitCare

How can we help you today?

TransitCare is a not-for-profit organisation providing a range of services to seniors, people with disabilities and those who have difficulty getting around.

Our fleet of vehicles provides door-to-door transport to people in local communities who are unable to get out and about.

We also offer a Social Support programme for those looking to enjoy some time away from home and Home Care packages which include a variety of care and supports.

This year, TransitCare celebrates 30 years of service, assisting our clients to maintain their independence and remain connected to their local communities.  We celebrated with a staff function on Saturday night and a client function today.

We are a very proud local organisation, founded in Logan City back in 1992 by a lady by the name of Ann Langley.  Ann helped form a support group for people with MS (Multiple Sclerosis) with one of the main aims being to assist with transporting each other to their hospital and medical appointments. This initial service was voluntary and we received government funding in 1994, becoming incorporated as Logan and Albert North Disability Services (LANDS) and rebranding to TransitCare in 2012.

From these humble beginnings, a lot of dedication and the many people who gave selflessly of their time, TransitCare is now Australia’s largest and most experienced community transport provider, delivering over 270,000 trips per year. We now proudly service not only Logan City, but Redlands, Brisbane South, Mt Tamborine, Gold Coast, Townsville, Cairns, Charters Towers, Ingham, and surrounding areas.

We are only one call away……. Please enjoy our 30th anniversary celebration video.

Today the women of Regal Waters Retirement Village joined us for our inaugural Op Shop Hop across Redcliffe. After a windy morning tea at Clontarf Beach they injected many dollars into the local economy at a number of charities including The Salvos, St Vinnies, Red Cross, Save the Children, Kidney Foundation and some smaller $2 Op Shops. After a busy morning and many bargains stowed under the bus, they enjoyed fish and chips at Morgans Seafood before heading home. ... See MoreSee Less

Yesterday 17 TransitCare Community Flyer staff, family and friends participated as a group in the 2024 Mater Fun Run, supporting Breast Cancer. Our team walked 5 kms, the rain held off until they finished and a great morning was had by all! See if you can recognise our CEO, Terry O'Toole in the crowd of pink 🙂 We plan to do this as an annual team event, spreading the word further to ensure that other staff members who wish to participate are able to. Thank you also to our incredible driver, Bill Simpson, who volunteered his time to drive us in and bring us home again. Our target as a team was to raise $2,500 and we exceeded this by raising $2,575. #seaofpink #IWD2024 #FunRun2024 #materhospital ... See MoreSee Less

It was fabulous to welcome yet another great community group onboard for our Fun on the Run adventures for seniors. Yesterday, we travelled on the inaugural trip with Probus Club Park Ridge to Camp Hill Antique Centre & TART Cafe where the morning tea was simply devine. Thank you to Sarah-Jane and the team. After a mad morning of shopping and revisiting many childhood memories we made our way to Carina Leagues Club for what was declared the most amazing lunches. The club staff went over and above to care for everyone, with table service and even a follow up phone call to ensure we were satisfied with everything. We couldn’t have been happier. A fabulous start to our 2024 Fun on the Run bus trips for seniors! These outings are organised for people living in retirement villages and belonging to groups and clubs. Yesterday, we travelled to Maleny with a wonderful group of women - Older Women’s Network from Capalaba, on their first bus trip with us. The enjoyed a morning of shopping, particularly loving Imelda's of Maleny shoe shop and all of the Maple St stores. This was followed by a fabulous lunch at Maleny Food Co. Thank you to Katie and her team for looking after us so well. They commented about how superbly they were looked after by the TransitCare team, with Bill our driver a favourite among the women! ...
