How we help
Getting you out and about with trust, care and respect.
TransitCare’s community transport services and social activities are for people who want to get out and about but need help with transport.
To receive financial help to use our services, you will need to have approval from a government support program and live in an area where the government funds our services.
Our services are also available for people who do not have government funding. This means the service costs more, but your trip will be safe and comfortable in a vehicle which suits your needs.
Transport for older people
Getting out and about should feel easy — not stressful. TransitCare helps older people stay independent by making every day travel simpler and safer.
Our clients tell us they feel more relaxed knowing someone they trust will pick them up at their door, help them to the vehicle if needed, and bring them safely home again. It’s not just transport — it’s support that helps you stay active, connected and in control of your day.
Mostly our services for older people are funded through government programs through My Aged Care (over 65 years), or the Queensland Community Support Scheme (under 65 years or under 50 years for First Nations peoples). We also partner with local governments and residential aged care providers to help residents to get out and about to appointments or for group excursions.
Transport for people with disabilities
We work hard to make sure our transport services help our NDIS clients feel safe, comfortable and respected. If you are eligible for funding through the NDIS for transport assistance, we would love to help you get out and about.
Our drivers are trained in assisting people with disabilities and our door to door service sets TransitCare’s apart from other providers. We hope our high quality service will give you and your carers peace of mind that you can safely get to where you need to go.
Social support for older people
Through My Aged Care you can access funding to join a social group activity or event.
Our inclusive and fun-filled activities include excursions and adventures in groups, or social circle events at our TransitCare venue at Beenleigh or venues in your area.
TransitCare loves to provide these services to help our community members stay connected and make new friends.
You can access these services through the Commonwealth Home Support Program or the Support at Home program.
Accessible transport for events, visitors and tourists
If you are a tourist or visitor who uses a wheelchair or has special mobility needs, it can be difficult to get around in a new location. TransitCare can provide accessible and special needs transport in the beautiful Queensland locations of Cairns, Townsville, Gold Coast and Brisbane.
We can customise our service for you to include:
- pick-up and drop-off from your cruise ship or hotel
- an accessible vehicle to suit your needs – we have wheelchair accessible vehicles
- a driver who is trained to assist you with mobility needs if needed
- taking you to see friends or family or visiting local attractions.
