Everything you need to know to book our services.
Do you know your pick-up window?
You need to be ready one hour before your appointment.
This flexible pickup time is needed because we are a shared service – we could be picking up or dropping off other passengers in your area.
Do you have our Client Service Centre number?
Make sure you have our phone number with you when you are out and about. Keep our Contact Card in your wallet and add our number to your mobile phone.
If your plans change when you are out, or you are running late, we need you to call and let us know.
- Call TransitCare on 07 3422 7900.
- Listen to the message and select your location
- Listen to the options to:
- wait until an operator is free
- request a call back when an operator is free
- leave a message with your name and number so we can call you back.
All TransitCare trips must be booked in advance. You need to book before 10am at least one business day before you want to travel. For example:
- for a trip on Tuesday - you need to book before 10am on Monday
- for a trip on Monday - you need to book before 10am on Friday.
When you call to book, please have this information ready:
- Your pickup location and your destination
- The start time of your appointment – what time to you need to be there?
- The end time of your appointment – what time will you be ready to return home?
- The reason for your travel – this helps us to prioritise medical appointments when we schedule the trip
- Will you have a carer or registered assistance animal with you?
- Will you have a mobility aid with you?
- What is the size of your mobility aid? Please note that we may not be able to take oversized electric wheelchairs or scooters so please mention this when you book.
- Will you have large items such as a pram or suitcase with you?
If you need to cancel or change your trip, please call us as soon as possible on 07 3422 7900. We always do our best to help but we might not be able to change your pick-up time on the day of your trip.
If your booking is urgent, call us on 07 3422 7900 and listen to the message to select “urgent booking”.
What We Do
We get you out and about.
TransitCare’s community transport services and social activities are for people who want to get out and about but need help with transport. This might be because you:
- can’t drive or don’t want to drive
- can’t afford driving or parking costs
- have special needs which make transport difficult
- live in an area with no public transport
- don’t have family or friends nearby who can provide support.
Our wonderful TransitCare clients are mostly older adults, people who need help with mobility because of disability or illness, and people who do not have access to public transport.
To receive financial help to use our services, you will need to have approval from a government support program or live in an area where the government funds our services.
We also have clients who cover the cost themselves because they trust our service is reliable, caring and respectful.

TransitCare partners with aged care providers, disability support providers and government agencies to deliver accessible transport for clients.

We love to help visitors and tourists to get out and about with accessible transport.
Group outings
Group outings for residential aged care and social clubs
Retirement villages, aged care homes and community clubs use our wonderful TransitCare drivers and vehicles to host adventures for their residents and members. Our wonderful clients include Rotary, Probus, Lions, Allinto and others. We work with your activities or social coordinator to design tailored trips for groups of up to 40 people. Whether it’s a gallery visit, a country pub lunch or a day of shopping, everyone travels in comfort in our modern, air-conditioned buses and passenger vans, with plenty of room for mobility aids.
