This year marks a significant milestone for TransitCare as we celebrate 30 years of supporting clients to maintain their independence and stay connected to the communities they love. The anniversary was commemorated with a staff celebration over the weekend, followed by a special event for clients today.
TransitCare’s story began in Logan City in 1992, when founder Ann Langley established a support group for people living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). A key focus of the group was helping one another reach essential hospital and medical appointments—a simple, voluntary service that quickly revealed a much larger community need.
In 1994, the organisation received government funding and formally incorporated as Logan and Albert North Disability Services (LANDS), before rebranding as TransitCare in 2012. Through decades of dedication, hard work, and the generosity of countless volunteers, TransitCare has grown from a small grassroots initiative into Australia’s largest and most experienced community transport provider.
Today, TransitCare proudly delivers more than 270,000 trips every year. Our services now extend far beyond Logan City, supporting clients across Redlands, Brisbane South, Mt Tamborine, the Gold Coast, Townsville, Cairns, Charters Towers, Ingham, and surrounding regions.
As we reflect on our journey, we remain committed to the mission that started it all—ensuring people can access the essential connections that support their wellbeing, independence, and quality of life.
