If transport is difficult for you, it can be hard to stay connected with your community.
Our transport services and social activities help get you where you want to go if you can’t drive or use public transport because you:
- Can’t drive or don’t want to drive
- Can’t afford driving or parking costs
- Have a disability, special need or health condition which make transport difficult
- Live in an area with no public transport
- Don’t have family or friends nearby who can provide support
Our wonderful TransitCare clients are mostly older adults, people who need help with mobility because of disability or illness, and people who do not have access to public transport. Our clients tell us our services help them to feel more independent and not isolated because transport is difficult.
To receive financial help to use our services, you will need to have approval from a government support program or live in an area where the government funds our services. You can also access our services without using government funding.

We love to help visitors and tourists to get out and about with accessible transport in beautiful Cairns, Townsville, Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
What we do
Trips to help you stay independent.
Your trip with TransitCare could be for any reason. We can take you to your:
- doctor appointment
- medical treatment
- supermarket and shopping centre
- job interview
- social activity
- hair salon or barber
- catch up with a friend or family member.
You can use TransitCare for other trips as well.
You will need to book in advance and give us information about your trip. We will drive you from your home to your appointment, and then back to your home.
Most of the time you will share the vehicle with other passengers. This helps us to keep costs down and is better for the environment.

Social activities to make you smile.
Staying connected with your community is so important for your health and wellbeing. You’ll have fun and make new friends when you get out and about with a TransitCare social activity! We offer social activities in Townsville, Brisbane, Logan and the Gold Coast. Your adventure might be:
- a group bus tour for sightseeing and events
- a visit to an art gallery, a restaurant or a shopping centre
- a group activity like craft, trivia, painting, singing or learning a new hobby.
Some activities suit people with all abilities and have wheelchair access. To help you choose an outing which is right for you, we include information about accessibility with our activity and event descriptions. You can see how many times you will need to hop on and off the bus, how far you will need to walk and how many stairs there will be.
What we do
Group adventures & activities
TransitCare makes it easy for older people and those with mobility needs to get out, connect and enjoy life. We organise relaxed, social group outings for retirement villages, aged care homes and community clubs including Rotary, Probus and Lions.
Working with your activities or social coordinator, we design tailored trips for groups of up to 40 people – whether it’s a a gallery visit, a country pub lunch or a day of shopping. Everyone travels in comfort in our modern, air-conditioned buses and passenger vans, with plenty of room for mobility aids.
Enjoyable days out and good company – our group adventures are a safe and supported way to stay connected.
What we do
Accessible transport for tourists and visitors
If you are a tourist or visitor who uses a wheelchair or has special mobility needs, it can be difficult to get around in a new location. TransitCare can provide accessible and special needs transport in the beautiful Queensland locations of Cairns, Townsville, Gold Coast and Brisbane.
We can customise our service for you to include:
- pick-up and drop-off from your cruise ship or hotel
- an accessible vehicle to suit your needs – we have wheelchair accessible vehicles
- a driver who is trained to assist you with mobility needs if needed
- taking you to see friends or family or visiting local attractions.

Our work with agencies & Government partners
TransitCare is contracted to provide community transport services to many Queensland Government departments and local governments.
We also partner with agencies and service providers in aged care, health care and the NDIS. Using TransitCare brings benefits for agencies including:
