Older people and people with disability on Brisbane’s northside now have another trusted transport option, with TransitCare delivering Brisbane City Council’s Council Cabs service in the area for the first time.
After three decades of supporting clients on the southside, TransitCare has expanded its role in Council’s shared, low-cost transport program. The first week saw clients safely transported to local shopping centres with door-to-door support, including Pam, the very first northside passenger, assisted by Metro North team members Jestin and Kay.
Council Cabs offers affordable transport to essential services such as grocery shopping, banking and the post office, with each one-way trip costing between $1 and $2.50. The expansion means more Brisbane residents can rely on a trusted, caring service to help them maintain independence and manage everyday tasks.
