Social Activities & Events

In Brisbane South, Logan and the Gold Coast areas, TransitCare’s social activities and events help clients who receive funding through My Aged Care programs such as Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) and Support at Home. Our social outings offer the chance to make new friends and have new experiences! We offer social outings in Townsville, Brisbane, Logan and the Gold Coast. Your adventure might be:

• a group bus tour for sightseeing and events
• lunch at a local restaurant
• a visit to an art gallery, a restaurant or a shopping centre
• a group activity like craft, trivia, painting, singing or learning a new hobby.

Some outings suit people with all abilities and have wheelchair access. We provide information about walking distances, number of stairs and number of stops during each trip. This helps you to decide if a trip is suitable for your mobility needs.

Retirement villages, aged care homes and community clubs use our wonderful TransitCare drivers and vehicles to host adventures for their residents and members. Our wonderful clients include Rotary, Probus and Lions.

We work with your activities or social coordinator to design tailored trips for groups of up to 40 people. Whether it’s a gallery visit, a country pub lunch or a day of shopping, everyone travels in comfort in our modern, air-conditioned buses and passenger vans, with plenty of room for mobility aids.

Laughter and storytelling is part of every social circle event, hosted at our TransitCare venue at Beenleigh. Clients enjoy a range of activities during this four-hour session which might include craft, painting, trivia, exercise classes or a special theme activities to celebrate the season.

We’ll pick you up from your home, bring you to the session then take you home again. Morning tea and lunch is included.
